iTunes U at UCCS

Procedures for using iTunes U in Blackboard

Step 1. First request an iTunes U course site by sending an email to webdept@uccs.edu.  Make sure that you supply the name, abbreviation and number of the course and the call number, which you can find in your course list in the Faculty 2010 portal.

Step 2.  Wait for a response email saying that the site has been created (it should take a week or less )

Step 3.  Record in your classroom or from your office by opening a browser and navigating to Podcast producer (https://podcastproducer.uccs.edu:8143).  With a mic and/or a camera,  you can capture the screen, the feed from the camera, or audio in the room.  When finished you will select a workflow which tells the server which course site to save files to.   Recording this way will automatically upload to iTunes U.  There is also an option to upload pre-recorded audio, video or pdf files for podcasting.  You must be logged in to the UCCS network directly or remotely by VPN.   Instructions for downloading and uploading Content, and other information for iTunes U  can be  found at https://itunes.uccs.edu/    More information about recording may be found below.
Step 4.  Add an iTunes U link into a Content Area in Bb.
  • Log into Bb
  • Open a course that has an iTunes U course already created for it (see Step 1 above)
  • Click Add an Interactive Tool
  • Pick the iTunes U Link tool
  • Give the link a Name and Click Submit
  • Try your new link out!
