About Us

The mission of the Faculty Resource Center is to provide faculty with the instructional resources and support to explore and implement innovative teaching practices. The Center provides consultation, programs, and training.

The Center is a faculty-focused, collaborative endeavor to promote effective teaching, with special emphasis on technology-enhanced, hybrid, and online courses. The Center supports new ways of teaching and learning, including creative approaches to faculty-student engagement, course design and implementation, and the seamless integration of technology into the academic environment.

David Anderson, Director

DAndersonPicDavid Anderson, PhD, Senior Faculty Associate to Information Technology, Director of the Faculty Resource Center, and Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, has over 30 years of experience developing and implementing technology in teaching and learning. Kathryn Andrus, Instructional Technologist

Kathy AndrusKathryn Andrus, PhD, formerly the Director of the Faculty Resource Center, is now an Instructional Technologist with a specialty in multimedia. She has taught at UCCS for over 25 years and online for 8. Her courses have included topics in Art, Art History, Interdisciplinary Core Humanities, and Freshman Seminar. 255-4108 or kandrus@uccs.edu

Sharon Stevens, Online Teaching Specialist

Maria is a senior psychology major minoring in sociology. She enjoys helping and working with people. Maria has worked with Blackboard in the past and hopes to help faculty with Blackboard Support and with all the services the FRC offers. mmendoza@uccs.edu

With a background in audio/visual production and editing, and academic instruction in computer programming, Keegan enjoys working at the Faculty Resource Center. He looks forward to applying his experience and skills to help faculty and students learn via Blackboard. kschulz@uccs.edu

Valerie is a sophomore in the Communications with an emphasis in Digital Film program at UCCS. She has a strong background in filming and editing software and hopes to bring those skills to the Faculty Resource Center. vihnen@uccs.edu
