Faculty Resource Center

About Us

The mission of the Faculty Resource Center is to provide faculty with the instructional resources and support to explore and implement innovative teaching practices. The Center provides consultation, programs, training, and support.

The Center is a faculty-focused, collaborative endeavor to promote effective teaching, with special emphasis on technology-enhanced, hybrid, and online courses. The Center supports new ways of teaching and learning, including creative approaches to faculty-student engagement, course design and implementation, and the seamless integration of technology into the academic environment.

David Anderson, Director

David AndersonDavid Anderson, PhD, Senior Faculty Associate to Information Technology, Director of the Faculty Resource Center, and Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, has over 30 years of experience developing and implementing technology in teaching and learning.

Kathryn Andrus, Instructional Technologist

Kathy AndrusKathryn Andrus, PhD, formerly the Director of the Faculty Resource Center, is now an Instructional Technologist with a specialty in multimedia. She has taught at UCCS for over 25 years and online for 8. Her courses have included topics in Art, Art History, Interdisciplinary Core Humanities, and Freshman Seminar.

Jackie Crouch, Instructional Technologist

Jackie Crouch, Instructional TechnologistJackie Crouch, MA, is an Instructional Technologist in the Faculty Resource Center. She has provided technology solutions and training since 1999. A Blackboard Certified Trainer and Collaborate Product Specialist, her passion for all things related to technology in education keeps her engaged in research, evaluation, and recommendation of emerging technologies.

Sharon Stevens, Online Teaching Specialist

Sharon StevensSharon Stevens, MA is the Online Teaching Specialist for the Faculty Resource Center. She has been assisting faculty with online courses and technology integration for over 20 years. She brings a plethora of knowledge, experience, and expertise to the FRC.

Scott Switzer, Instructional Designer

Scott SwitzerScott Switzer, MA, is the Instructional Designer for the Faculty Resource Center. Scott has been teaching and working with UCCS faculty since 1996 and has over fifteen years of online teaching experience. Scott is interested in experiential learning and in the use of problem- or scenario-based learning in an online environment.

Nathan BobbNathan is a sophomore majoring in Communications at UCCS. He has a passion for technology and computers, as well as creative writing in his free time.

Alexandra Christensen

Ali Christensen"Ali" is a freshman at UCCS majoring in the Biomedical field as a premedical student as well as minoring in american sign language. She enjoys working and helping people as well as learning many new things, and brings these skills and joys to the Faculty Resource Center.

Tasha Romero

"Tash" is a Junior in the Visual Arts program at UCCS, with an emphasis in Photography.She has experience in the photography and digital design fields, she has a great interest in all technology and hopes to bring her skills to aid the Faculty Resource Center.
