The Graduate PLUS Loan is a credit based loan available to graduate and professional students. Students who are approved may borrow up to the full cost of their education minus other financial aid.

Repayment on Graduate PLUS loans begins within 60 days after the final disbursement of the loan. Graduate PLUS loans may be deferred while the student is enrolled at least half-time.

Federal Graduate PLUS Interest Rate

The Graduate PLUS interest rate is fixed at 7.9%.

Federal Graduate PLUS Fees

Starting March 1st, 2013, the origination fee for Graduate PLUS Loans is 4.204%.

How to apply for a Graduate PLUS Loan at UCCS

• Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
• Complete the PLUS Loan Application, Master Promissory Note, and Entrance Counseling at Studentloans.gov*.
• Enroll in at least 3 Graduate credit hours.
• Have a completed financial aid file.
• Maintain satisfactory academic progress.

*The 2013-2014 PLUS Application will be available at studentloans.gov on July 1, 2013.
