Biographical Sketch
Dr. Ziemer recieved his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Minnesota from 1960 to 1965. He joined the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 1984 as Chairman and Professor in the ECE Department. In conjunction, Dr. Ziemer worked as the Program director for Communications Research for the National Science Foundation from 1998 to 2001. In May of 2008 he was appointed Professor Emeritus.
Research
Dr. Ziemer's research focuses on communications theory and its applications. Recent research has dealt with applications of independent component analysis applied to signal detection in multipath and multiple-access interference channels. He has also recently consulted in the area of applications of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing to wireless local area networks.
