Professor Wickert recieved his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, Houghton, MI. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla (recently renamed Missouri Science and Technology University). He joined UCCS as an Assistant Professor in 1984. He was promoted to Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineer in 1990 and became Professor in 1997. Professor Wickert is a member of the IEEE and is active as a consultant with local industry. He also enjoys playing music in a brass ensemble and outdoor activities, in particular hiking, backpacking, and cycling.

Research

His current research interests include wireless communication systems, DSP algorithm development for communication systems, sensor networks, statistical signal processing, real-time digital signal processing, and microwave and RF systems.
