Configure Your Linux Gnome Desktop (LATS) Connect to your Network Domain File Share

  1. Click on Places menu and then on Connect to Server sub-menu.
  2. Enter settings for your network share
    1. Students
      Service type: Windows Share
      Server: excelsior2
      Share: students$
      Folder: username’s first character/username, i.e. j/jdoe
      Username: your username
      Domain Name: UFP
      Add bookmark: check (optional)
      Bookmark name: a meaningful name, i.e. Z: drive, etc. (optional)

      And then click on Connect.
    2. Faculty/Staff
      Service type: Windows Share
      Server: excelsior2
      Share: faculty$
      Folder: your username
      Username: your username
      Domain Name: UFP
      Add bookmark: check (optional)
      Bookmark name: a meaningful name, i.e. My network drive, etc. (optional)

      And then click on Connect.
  3. Enter your UCCS password and choose one of the options listed here.
  4. Your network domain file share is mounted now, and will be there every time you log into LATS.
