Biography

Willie Harrison graduated with his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering in 2007 from Utah State University. He graduated with his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in 2012 with his Ph.D. research focusing on physical-layer security and error-control coding.

In 2012, Dr. Harrison joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) as an Assistant Professor. His research interests include

  • physical-layer security coding,
  • cryptography,
  • information theory,
  • network coding,
  • compressed sensing,
  • telecommunications,
  • signal processing, and
  • probabilistic sports performance analysis.

Dr. Harrison has taught courses in digital signal processing, signals and systems, probability and statistics, and information & coding theory. He loves teaching and advising students, and is currently the UCCS IEEE student club advisor.
