EAS Computer Labs as a Service (CLaaS)

The College of Engineering and Applied Science (EAS) has extended its traditional desktop offering to include Computer Labs as a Service (CLaaS). CLaaS is a user-centric approach to optimize computing resources around what a user needs rather than forcing their behavior of physical computer devices, location, and schedule constraints – thereby introducing new levels of end-user productivity and freedom.

CLaaS are single user, purpose built, virtual desktops that can be accessed on or off site. They are provisioned on high-end servers and function as a high fidelity computing platform. A simple diagram of EAS CLaaS is shown in Figure 1.
