Undergraduate Advising: The College of Engineering and Applied Science is committed to supporting your academic goals. Our commitment requires that a faculty member advise all undergraduates enrolled in the college prior to registering for each semester. By personally monitoring and guiding your selection of courses, our faculty will work with you to help ensure that you can successfully proceed through your undergraduate degree program. This advising session also provides an opportunity for you to get your questions answered regarding course content and career opportunities in your major.

Your advisor's name and contact information is included in an Advising Notice that will be emailed to your UCCS email account. If you did not receive an email, contact Robert King at Please be aware that many faculty advisors will also be available for email advising during the advising time period. Contact your advisor to see if this option is available to you. If you want to try this option, make sure you review the course schedule before engaging in email advising.

Visit your advisor's office to sign up for an advising appointment. A sign-up sheet should be posted outside his/her office door identifying times available for advising. If the sign up sheet is not posted, you should email or call your advisor to find an appropriate time to meet.

Be sure to bring a copy of your Degree Progress Report and a tentative schedule for the semester with you to your advising session. On your tentative schedule please include days/times and be sure to consider all prerequisites. Your Degree Progess Report can be accessed through the Student Online Center by clicking on the ?Records? link, then clicking on the ?Degree Progress? link, and then clicking on ?Submit.?

Graduate Advising:Students are advised by the chair of the graduate studies committee during their first semester. A student must choose an advisor by the time 12 credit hours have been completed. A Plan of Study must be developed by the student and approved by his/her advisor within the first semester of registering. All courses included to count for this degree must be part of the approved plan of study. Graduate Advising.
