Disability Services Testing Policies for Students

Students with documented disabilities may be eligible for reasonable and appropriate testing accommodations through Disability Services. Below are the policies and guidelines students who qualify and are registered for testing accommodations must follow:

  • Give a Test Accommodation Form to your professor ONE WEEK PRIOR to each exam. Ask your professor to send/deliver the completed Form with the exam to Disability Services.
  • Call or stop by the Disability Services Office to make a testing appointment ONE WEEK PRIOR to the exam. Please have the course number, your professor's name and which exam needing to be taken (Exam 2, Quiz #3, Midterm, etc.). Also, please remind the Disability Services staff member of what test accommodations you will need for this specific test (Enlarged Test, Assistive Technology, own room, reader/scribe, etc.).
  • To change a scheduled appointment you must contact your professor and have him/her contact the Disability Services Office with the new time and date that the two of you have agreed on.
  • Tests MUST be taken at the same date/time that the class meets. Exceptions are evening classes, back to back classes or prior special permission from the instructor.
  • Tests must be started early enough to be finished by 4:45 pm. Unless otherwise noted.
  • Tests must start and end on the same day.
  • No personal belongings allowed in testing room (backpacks, purses, cell phones must be kept in lockers in front office.)
  • Students testing with Disability Services must abide by the UCCS Academic Honor Code which prohibits disclosure of content, plagiarizing of any kind, or using any other aids not approved by the professor. Any violation of the Honor Code will be reported.
