Communication Access Services

Communication Access Services

Communication Access Services (CAS) ensures access to individuals who are D/deaf or hard of hearing in the UCCS community. Our programming includes:

  • Sign language interpreting services including Close Vision, Tactile Interpreting and Oral interpreting: CAS employs a staff of Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf nationally certified interpreters
  • Real-time transcription services: via Communication Access Realtime Translation(CART) or Typewell; CAS can also assist in the production of transcripts for recorded material
  • Assistive Listening Systems: CAS will provide assistive technology suited to individual hearing loss
  • Captioned Media: CAS provides support with captioning media for classroom and campus events
  • Technology: CAS can provide information about videophones, Cap Tel phones or amplified handsets
  • Notetaking services

Communication Access Services is available to all UCCS students, faculty, staff and visitors. CAS is a program within Disability Services. We are located in Cragmor Hall 004. For more information, please contact Elizabeth Hanlon, Coordinator/Interpreter, at 719-373-0104 or ehanlon@uccs.edu
