How to Start with DS

Services and/or accommodations are provided to all students with disabilities who provide documentation and personally request services through the DS.

  • Student must make an appointment with the DS, bring current documentation regarding the disability, and fill out an intake form.
  • Documentation will be reviewed by the DS to determine if the documentation is complete and accurate.
  • The DS Director will discuss the support services and/or accommodations that are appropriate.

Students must request services. Submission of documentation does not activate services or accommodations. The accommodations or recommendations (if any) that the student has received in the past may not be considered.

Documentation is evaluated for completeness and appropriateness under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the American with Disabilities Act of 1990, along with DS requirements. Accommodations and/or services will be provided based off these criteria as well.
