Notification of Funding Availability- Request for Proposals
By staff writer, 2003-03-06

The Center for the Study of Government and the Individual (CSGI) published its annual notification of funding availability for the 2003 summer and fall and the 2004 spring semesters research projects.  Private donors interested in how government is involved in our lives provide funding for the Center. The 2003-03 CSGI Academic Year Grant Recipients have been announced.

Proposal Guidelines:

Eligible proposals must be directly relate to the limits of government! Last year proposals funded came from various LAS disciplines (including the arts), GSPA and the College of Business. The single most important criterion is that there is a clear connection to what the limits of government should be in our lives. CSGI funds cost of research and some summer stipends to work on the projects. In some cases, costs of undergraduate and /or graduate assistantships may also be funded. Each project should have a well thought out budget. Benefits will be deducted from the stipend amount.

Format: The proposal should include following sections in no more than 8-10 pages:

  1. Problem Statement
  2. Research Context
  3. Objectives
  4. Work Plan
  5. Budget
  6. Relation to the limits of government

Please enclose an updated C-V as the only appendix.

April 15, 2003 was the deadline to submit a proposal.

Projects selected will be published by the Center for the Study of Government and the Individual (CSGI), as it will retain the right to distribute the results to faculty as educational materials on campus or distribute to interested members of the community. This is in no way an attempt to interfere with your copyright or ownership of your creative work.

Range of funding: $3,000 - $7,000.
