    Ms. Zane Bowers � Ms. Bowers was raised in Cimarron County, OK, on a cattle ranch. She graduated in 1951 from Colorado College with a B.A., has one daughter, and is past Past President of the Woman's Education Society of Colorado College. Ms. Bowers is Past Chairman of the Colorado Springs Historic Preservation Board and Past Chairman of the Colorado Springs Planning Commission. She has served on the Charter Revisions Committee and many other boards and committees in the City of Colorado Springs. Ms. Bowers is a Past President of the Pikes Peak Association of Realtors, R.E., and licensed at Haley Realty, Inc.

    Mr. Lindsay J. Case � Real Estate Broker. Native Colorado Real Estate Broker, who has worked for the past 12 years in all phases of real estate. He has served on boards, committees and task forces serving the industry and the public. Mr. Lindsay has a Master�s degree in Business Administration from UCCS and completed studies at the New York Institute of Finance.

    Dr. Frederick D. Crowley � Associate Research Professor at UCCS College of Business and Senior Economist for the Southern Colorado Economic Forum. He holds a Ph.D. in Urban Economics and Financial Theory. He�s most interested in the economic base and its diversification in a local economy and how its enhancement promotes a stable economy and enriches its citizens.

    Dr. Dale DeBoer � Chair, Economics Department, UCCS. He is researching the impact of information technologies on the economy.

    Ms. Vydia Garcia-Torres � Serves as Grant Coordinator at the Pikes Peak Workforce Center. Previously worked with Dr. Jim A. Null at UCCS. Served as Secretary of Housing in Puerto Rico between 1989-1992. Worked at the New York State Department of Housing and Community Renewal, the State of New York Mortgage Agency, the NYS Department of State and the Capital District Regional Planning Commission. Received a Master�s degree in Public Policy from the State University of New York at Albany and a Bachelor�s degree from the University of Puerto Rico. Areas of interest are public policy, legislative analysis, budgeting and education reform.

    Dr. Jeremy Haefner � Dean of UCCS College of Engineering and Applied Science. Director of Colorado Institute for Technology Transfer and Implementation, June 2003 - present (CITTI). Co-Director, Educational Outreach Center, May 2004 - present. 2002 Educause Fellow with the National Learning Infrastructure Initiative and Senior Faculty Associate for Information Technology, 2000 - present. Dr. Haefner received his Bachelor�s degree in Mathematics from the University of Iowa, and both his Masters and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin. He has been a professor of mathematics at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs since 1989. In the past he has served as Associate Director of the Mathematics Learning Center, Chair of the Department of Mathematics, and Dean of the College. His awards and recognition include a National Security Agency Young Investigator Award, a research fellowship from the Universidad de Murcia in Spain, and numerous research contracts with the National Security Agency, the University of Colorado and the University of Tennessee. Dr. Haefner has also received the Innovations in Teaching with Technology Award from UCCS and the University of Colorado President�s Faculty Excellence Award for Advancing Teaching and Learning through Technology.

    Mr. Terry R. Harris � El Paso County Administrator. Prior to that, this Colorado native has served in appointed and elected positions and owned and operated a real estate business. Mr. Harris is a member of various county administration organizations at the state and national levels. He has a BS in Planning from the University of Utah.

    Dennis Hisey � El Paso County Commissioner, businessman with over 20 years in the transportation industry. Actively involved in local government as a volunteer on several boards and committees previous to becoming an elected official.

    Mr. Imad Karaki � Project Manager, El Paso County Administrator. Alumni of UCCS. He has also served as Division Leader for Planning and Budgeting at the El Paso County Information Technology Department.

    Mr. Lorne C. Kramer � City Manager, City of Colorado Springs. In the past he has held the positions of Acting City Manager, Deputy City Manager, and Chief of Police. He has 38 years of law enforcement experience, including 28 years with the Los Angeles Police Department, which he left as a Commander. He has a Bachelors degree from the University of Redlands, California, and a Master�s degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California. He is active in the Police Executive Research Forum, the Colorado Peace Officers� Standards and Training Commission, and the Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Board of Directors. His awards include the Community Leadership Award from Pikes Peak Mental Health and the 1996 Public Administrator of the Year award from the Graduate School of Public Administration at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.

    Ms. Mary Lou Makepeace � Executive Director, Leadership Pikes Peak. Mayor of the City of Colorado Springs from 1997 to 2003, she is the first female elected to the position. She holds a bachelor�s degree in journalism from the University of North Dakota and a master�s degree in public administration from UCCS. She is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Colorado, the Center for Creative Leadership and conducts the Leadership Pikes Peak Program and the Stratton Youth Leadership Program for the Cheyenne Heritage Center.

    Mr. James Marvin � Business experience includes 15 years with National corporations. Thirty-eight years with various small businesses. Philosophically strongly believe that government spending - at any level of the government - is less effective than private spending in expanding the economy.

    Dr. James A. Null � Professor, Political Science Department , UCCS. He came to UCCS with his wife Norma and his two daughters after earning his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona where he specialized as an Americanist and in Public Administration. He is credited for starting the Graduate School of Public Affairs at UCCS in 1975 and was its dean four times over the next 15 years. He also served as Interim Dean of the two-campus program for one year. Dr. Null also served as Dean of the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences for 18 years and served one year as Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs. In 1997 Jim was elected to the City Council and was reelected for four years in April of 2001. He currently serves as the Chair for the Political Science Department.

    Ms. Crystal D. Ovitt � Ms. Ovitt is a senior Political Science student with an emphasis in public administration, and dual minors in Economics and Women�s Studies. She has worked with the Center as an undergraduate student assistant since Spring 2003, playing a major role preparing for the Center�s conference to discuss perspectives on recent voucher legislation proposed in the Sixty-Fourth General Assembly of Colorado. She will be active in the Center�s activities this year as a student member of the Advisory Committee and as an intern. She has participated in the Rocky Mountain Model United Nations Conference, and is currently the Vice President of the Model United Club as well as Secretary/Treasurer of The National Political Science Honors Society, Pi Sigma Alpha.

    Mr. Kent A. Petre � President, Norwood Limited, Inc., a real estate development firm in Colorado Springs. Mr. Petre is self-employed and has been in business for 45 years. He lives in Castle Rock with his wife Christen and has 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren.

    Dr. Rogers Redding � UCCS Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Professor of Physics. Dr. Redding is a native of Kentucky who received his Bachelor�s degree at Georgia Tech and his Ph.D. in physical chemistry at Vanderbilt. He has done post-doctorate work at the Optical Physics Division of the National Bureau of Standards in Washington. He was a faculty member at the University of North Texas from 1970-1994, and held various administrative posts throughout his employment there. He served as Dean for the College of Arts and Sciences at Northern Kentucky University from 1994-1999 before becoming the Provost and Academic Vice President, a position he held from 1999-2003.

    Dr. Venkateshwar K. Reddy � Interim Dean, College of Business and Administration and Graduate School of Business Administration at UCCS. Holds a Ph.D. from Penn State University. Dr. Reddy is largely responsible for the success of the nationally recognized the Distance MBA program at UCCS and was recognized by the Colorado Springs Business Journal as one of the "Forty Achievers Under 40" in the city of Colorado Springs. Received UCCS College of Business Outstanding Teacher Award for 1996-1997 and 2000-01. His publications have appeared in various Finance and Economics Journals.

    Dr. James T. Rothe � Professor of Marketing at UCCS, where he has also served as Dean of the College of Business. He is currently on sabbatical leave at the American Graduate School of International Management where he is a Distinguished Visiting Professor of Global Entrepreneurship. Dr. Rothe�s professional experience includes private equity/venture capital work with the Phillips-Smith Specialty Retail Group, senior executive positions with Pearle Health Services, academic positions at Southern Methodist University and the University of Wisconsin, and Director positions in start-up/early stage businesses. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in Marketing and Finance.

    Dr. Raphael Sassower � Professor of Philosophy at UCCS, where he has been since 1986. Published 8 books and close to 100 essays in the area of science technology, art and education. He is also owner of the Warehouse Restaurant Gallery and Brewery and a real estate developer and investor.

    Mr. Steve Schuck � Board Chairman, The Schuck Corporation. Mr. Schuck is a real estate developer of commercial, residential and industrial projects in Denver, Colorado Springs and Phoenix. Presently, his focus is on changing public policy at the local and national level to empower all parents to choose the education they think is best for their children. Mr. Schuck has a degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

    Mr. Robert (Rocky) K. Scott � President, Greater Colorado Springs Economic Development Corporation. Under his leadership, the EDC was named one of the top ten economic development organizations in the country in 1991and 1996. Mr. Scott was awarded the University Medal by the University of Colorado Board of Regents in 2001, and has been recognized as the 2000 Business Citizen of the Year by the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce as well as the Colorado Economic Developer of the Year for 1994 by the EDCC. In 1999 he was awarded the Leadership in Education Award from the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Mr. Scott received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University, and has served in the U.S. Army as an officer. He is married with three children.

    Hon. Richard A. Skorman � Vice Mayor, City of Colorado Springs. Holds a B.A. degree and an Honorary Doctorate from Colorado College. Owner of Poor Richard's Restaurant and Bookstore. Founder of the U.S. Environmental Film Festivals. Currently on leave as the Colorado State Conservation Finance and Marketing Director for the Trust for Public Land. Skorman is involved in numerous community organizations including the Trails and Open Space Coalition and Keep Colorado Springs Beautiful. He was a founding member and past chair of Citizens� Project and also a founding member of the Smokebrush Center for the Arts. He was a member of Colorado Springs Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and an Open Space Liaison to TOPS Working Committee.

    Hon. Larry A. Small � City Councilman At-Large, City of Colorado Springs. Mr. Small was elected to serve the last two years of a vacated council seat in 1991 and elected again to an at-large council seat in April 2003. He holds a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering/Math from West Virginia Institute of Technology in Montgomery, West Virginia. He is the retired Director of Turkish Operations at Lockheed Martin Corporation and has 37 years experience contracting with NASA and the Department of Defense. Currently serving as President of the Colorado Springs Lions Club and serving as Chairman of the Programs Committee on the Board of Directors of Easter Seals Southern Colorado.

    Mr. Scott E. Smith � Chief Operating Officer and Manager of La Plata Investments in Colorado Springs. La Plata is the current developer of the Briargate Master Planned Community. After working with Arthur Andersen & Company, he became the Chief Financial Officer for both Peregrine and the Briargate communities at Vintage Communities. Mr. Smith has presided over both, the Colorado Association of Home Builders and the Housing and Building Association of Colorado Springs. He was elected a Life Director of the National Association of Home Builders in 1996. Mr. Smith has served on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Springs Economic Development Corporation and is also a full member of the Urban Land Institute. Mr. Smith is a CPA and graduate of the UC- Boulder.

    Mr. Val Snider � Colorado Springs resident since 1993. Retired Air Force Police officer. Currently works as a mortgage loan officer. Serves on the Colorado Springs Planning Commission and the Colorado Springs Charter Review Committee. Hotline Volunteer for the Home Front Cares military assistance agency for deployed troops and their families. Board member for the Partnership for Community Design. Member and Director of Club Services for the Eastside Rotary Club.

    Prof. Marion Sondermann � Political Science Department, UCCS. She has extensive civic and community experience over the last 30 years. Ms. Sondermann has an M.P.A. from UCCS and a B.A. from Colorado College.

    Mr. Terry Storm � President and CEO of the Pikes Peak Association of REALTORS since 1988. Retired USAF Officer; 1961 AF Academy graduate. MBA U. of Missouri. El Paso County Administrator 1981-1987. Economic Development Council Board of Directors. Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Council. Housing & Building Association. Colorado Springs City Charter Review Committee. AF Academy Quarterback Club.

    Mr. Richard M. Sullivan � Executive Director of the City of Colorado Springs Housing Authority for over thirty-one years. He received a Bachelor�s of Science in Urban Planning and his Master�s in Public Administration. Mr. Sullivan is married and has two children.

    Mr. William Temby � President and C.E.O. of the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce. During his 23-year career in hotel business, he has held leadership positions for Hyatt, Sheraton, Stouffer and Doubletree corporations. Mr. Temby currently serves on the Economic Development Corporation, the Colorado Springs Technology Incubator, Foreign Trade Zone, Global Advisory Council, Junior Achievement, Sports Corporation, Peterson A.F.B. Air and Space Museum and the Pikes Peak Observatory and Tutmose Academy. Mr. Temby has a B.S. in Hotel, Restaurant, and Travel administration from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

    Mr. Joseph Woodford � President of Woodford Manufacturing. Mr. Woodford is also involved with his sons in two other family businesses, QND Investment Co. in Colorado Springs, Union Brass Mfg. Co in Eagan Minnesota. Mr. Woodford is a graduate of Colgate University and the Michigan Graduate School of Business. He has resided in Colorado Springs since 1978 and is now involved on the Board of the Myron Stratton Home, the Pikes Peak Community Foundation, ENT Federal Credit Union, Community Health and the Springs Community Action Network.
