Biographical Sketch

Dr. Pinson received his B.S. degree in 1965 from the University of Alabama. He then received his M.E. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Florida. Dr. Pinson worked for ENSCO, Martin-Marietta, Rockwell International, and General Electric Company before joining the Computer Science Department at UCCS in 1981.


Consulting Activities: development and teaching of intensive short courses, seminars and workshops in areas of expertise; technical consultation for investigation of advanced research topics including independent study and interaction with team members; advancement of knowledge in selected specialty areas through independent study and writing books.

Areas of Current and Past Expertise: Evolutionary Computation (genetic algorithms and genetic programming), Object-Orientation (00 analysis and design, 00 languages including Java, Smalltalk, Objective-C, C++), Electro-Optics (performance analyses of visible and infrared spectral sensors for detection, imaging and computer vision applications), Robotics (sensor fusion and intelligence), Digital Processing (signal and image processing, recognition and utilization), Random Data Analysis (including both analog and digital theories of data and methods for analysis).

Clients: Since 1973, Dr. Pinson has participated in the above consulting activities in the listed areas of expertise with universities, industry, government agencies, publishers, professional societies.
