Kim Walker Professor Internship Director for Media Management and Recording Arts
~ Background Information ~Dr. Walker has produced and directed a number of instructional and public affairs programs, including the Telly Award-winning Journey Into Literacy (1993). Dr. Walker's research has been granted funding from the National Association of Broadcasters and the International Communication Association. He has also published and presented over twenty manuscripts including articles in:
Dr. Walker has managed radio and television facilities in the Midwest and West and has served as a telecommunications consultant to the Illinois Office of Education, The McLuhan Program in Culture and Technology (University of Toronto), and The American Association of Retired Persons. He was among the founding members of both the Colorado Springs Film Advisory Commission, and the Southern Colorado Educational Television Consortium (SCETC). Since 1992, Professor Walker has produced several instructional television series on subjects ranging from children's' literacy to senior citizens in the workplace. These series continue to be cablecast on the Mind Extension University Network to an estimated 19 million subscribers in 6,000 communities across North and South America. |
