~ Background Information ~
JaNae Stansbery is an instructor in the Department of Communication. Male/female communication has been the focus of her research. Her Master’s thesis explored attachment style, communicative patterns across romantic relationships, and the stability of perceptions of power in romantic relationships. Other areas of emphases include leadership and depictions of men and women in the media.
JaNae has taught Speech at PPCC and has worked in the fields of public relations, editing, writing, and marketing communications. She enjoys writing humorous articles on the challenges of human communicative behavior and has completed a manuscript for a teenage novel entitled Bugga Wugga, Safe Socks, and the Sandwich of Life. Active in the performing arts, JaNae choreographs musicals and performs in local productions as a singer, dancer, and actress.
When JaNae is not teaching and performing, she spends her free time with her husband, Michael, who is the Theatre Department Chair/Artistic Director at PPCC.
