Dr. Lindy Crawford, assistant professor and chair of the Department of Special Education at UCCS, will be presenting findings of a recent report she authored on the testing of students with disabilities to the Senate Democratic Steering Committee in Washington D.C. on July 13, 2007. Dr. Crawford, along with a team of researchers and special education advocates, will conduct two briefings. The objective of the briefings is to contribute to ongoing discussions concerning the reauthorization of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.
The report titled, State Testing Accommodations: A Look at their Value and Validity, can be found on the National Center for Learning Disabilities website: http://www.ncld.org. The report investigates the variability of test accommodations across states on large-scale tests of student achievement.
