This program is accredited by the Council for Accreditations of Counseling & Related Educational Programs.
Curriculum & Instruction The Department of Curriculum & Instruction (C&I) offers unique opportunities for both preservice and in service teachers. Our traditional Teacher Education & Licensure Program includes undergraduate and Post-bacc option in elementary and secondary education. Our secondary education content areas are English, Foreign Language, and Social Studies. Those interested in secondary Math and Science will complete the UCCSTeach program, an inquiry-based program modeled after the highly successful UTeach program. Our Alternative Licensure Program (ALP) is offered for secondary licensure (English, Foreign Language, Math, Science, and Social Studies)with online course availability and a Master of Arts in Curriculum & Instruction option. C & I is also home to a variety of certificates, endorsements, and Masters programs.
Leadership, Research, & Foundations If you are looking to improve education and become a leader in your community, the programs offered in Leadership are for you. Our programs include a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Research & Policy an MA with Principal Licensure, an Online Principal Licensure Program, Administrator/Superintendent Preparation Program and our new Student Affairs in Higher Education program
Special Education Special education is a unique and challenging profession. Candidates in special education learn to teach students the skills needed to fully participate in their school, community, and workplace. Course work combines on-campus learning with field learning experiences to prepare candidates to work with people with disabilities ages 5 to 21.
