Title/Company: B. A. in Communcation

Major at UCCS: Communication with an emphasis in Leadership

Favorite CLC Memory: My favorite memory in CLC was the VOC trip in Grand Junction with my fellow scholars. We were able tp spend about three days together exploring the area, building trails and making smores. It was a volunteer expereince I will never forget.

Advice for CLC Scholars: My advice to scholars is to find a balanace in your life. Your academics are very important but so are maintaining your relationships, investing in service and just having fun. Collge is one of the of the last times in your life you will have such a flexible schedule and hundreds of opportunities at your finger tips. Enjoy your time here and say "yes" to a study break.

Hannah Hofrreiter
Title/Company: Nurse/Penrose Hospital

Major at UCCS: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (minor in Leadership Studies)

Favorite CLC Memory: Of course I love the memory of my first bon fire. But I really love everyone I have had the privilege to meet through this program. The scholars are an amazing support system and the connections to the community have been invaluable. It has been the opportunity of a lifetime to be part of this group!

Advice for CLC Scholars: Take every opportunity you can! Get involved as a StuDir, lead a group service project, and participate in any extra events that you can. CLC has been such an amazing learning opportunity and taking advantage of all this program has to offer will truly develop your leadership. Also, the scholars in the program are a wonderful source of support and a wealth of wisdom and knowledge. Try to learn something about everyone and build those relationships because the friendships are one of the best parts of the program.

Jenny Ishida
Title/Company: Lifelong Learner and Career Explorer (for the time being)

Major at UCCS: BA in Psychology, Minor in Leadership Studies

Favorite CLC Memory: Quiet moments of depth with other scholars

Advice for CLC Scholars: Question your assumptions, but don't doubt your instincts. Be the first to ask the hard questions among a crowd. "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead

Title/Company: Adjunct Professor/ Pikes Peak Community College

Major at UCCS: Strength and Conditioning with a Minor in Leadership Studies

Favorite CLC Memory: My favorite memory by far is always the bonfire at the retreat my first year in the program! It was such a great feeling to be unconditionally accepted by a group of people I had known for maybe 48 hours. I always smile when I remember that moment and it was a blessing to share it with such a special group of people. I had never experienced such an overwhelming feeling before!

Advice for CLC Scholars: Try not to bite off more than you can chew! It is SO easy to get excited about the immense amount of clubs and activities to participate in on campus, and it is just as easy to forget about your academic commitments as well as commitments to CLC. Explore all of the opportunities you can, but keep a healthy balance and don't forget about time management. Most importantly, don't forget to have FUN!
