Title/Company: Until March 2012, I was a Development Assistant for the CU Foundation. Currently, I work part-time in the family business (agriculture and automotive related) while enjoying the chance to be a full-time mama.
Major at UCCS: English with an emphasis in professional writing and a minor in leadership
Favorite CLC Memory: There are too many to count! The first memory that came to mind was the very first Boots and Stars event. I also fondly remember my time as a student director, each and every awesome retreat and revival, and the camaraderie of the group!
Advice for CLC Scholars: Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
" I am much more aware of philanthropy, service and otherwise giving back to people and organizations that mean something to me. I also find reassurance in my own life's path when I remember the CLC principles. What I learned in CLC is always there to guide me and reassure my steps through life."
Title/Company: Marketing Manager/Pikes Peak United Way & Owner/Chad Parker Agency - American Family Insurance
Major at UCCS: Organizational Communication with a minor in Leadership Studies
Favorite CLC Memory:Spending 10 glorious days traveling through Italy on CLC's first International Experience. Enjoying gelato (delizioso!), exploring foreign cities and towns, and learning about leadership and life... those are the kinds of memories that will stay with me forever. Molto bene!
Advice for CLC Scholars: Take advantage of every opportunity CLC presents for you. The experiences you enjoy, friendships you create and lessons you learn don't end at graduation; you never know how CLC will help you in your future.
"Daily, I am reminded how much 'awareness' is an advantage. I often encounter others who do not understand others' perspectives, others' views or others' beliefs. The simple act of being aware of others is an incredible tool I am able to use in colflict mediation and decision making."
"CLC provided me with excellent friendships and a great experience that I would not have gotten from college alone. The thingsI learned from the volunteer experiences like developing a sense of giving back have shaped who I am."
