The Challenging Aspects of CLC

  • CLC is a HUGE commitment.
  • Living up to the vision and precedence set by older scholars is very difficult.
  • The hardest concept to grasp yet the most rewarding, is balance. It is hard to find balance between school, work, CLC, and life in general, but once you find that balance you can use the skill forever.
  • CLC has challenged me to become comfortable with the uncomfortable - not to scowl at the idea of going outside my comfort zone, but to look at it as an opportunity.
  • The challenge is to rise above who you are now and become who you can be.
  • It's hard to know exactly how to leave my mark when there are already so many other solid footprints ahead of me. But by looking at those footprints, I gain inspiration and motivation to leave some of my own.
  • Finding a balance between my commitments to CLC, school, work, volunteering, family, and friends is a major challenge, but there are always other Scholars who have been through it and are willing to help out.
  • Sometimes there are too many leaders and not enough followers.
  • The challenges of CLC are really lessons in disguise. Though the time commitment can seem overwhelming, I am learning the skills necessary to handle future overwhelming endeavors.
  • Being a CLC Scholar makes you an instant role model of a good UCCS student. The expectations of you are much higher.
  • CLC challenges you to find yourself, be yourself, and find your place in this world. Sometimes that is one of the most difficult things to do for someone who is used to being invested in everyone else. It is very difficult to find yourself in this big, changing world and CLC accepts nothing less. It's very demanding, but if you can find a way through it, it is a most rewarding process.
