The UCCS email address you receive upon admission is automatically set as default and any email correspondence from CHS or UCCS will be sent to that address. UCCS requires that students use this account for all university business.
CHS courses are offered both online and in-residence. Courses may be cancelled for reasons such as low enrollment, instructor unavailability, etc. If a course is cancelled, you may be asked if you wish to transfer your enrollment to another class (Ex: You are registered In-residence and it is cancelled, thus you may be asked to transfer to the online version.)
Online courses are conducted through the UCCS Blackboard support system. Blackboard may also be used to support an in-residence course by providing the instructor with a convenient method of sharing extra reading materials and submitting assignments.
For more information regarding Blackboard, please go to our Blackboard Resources page.
You should receive an email from your instructor at least one week prior to class start. This is to confirm enrollment in his/her class and to provide details regarding the course syllabus and reading material, if applicable. If you do not receive an email one week prior to the start of your class, please visit the CHS Faculty page to send your instructor an email.
Certificates are awarded upon successful completion of the program series, but the Graduate Certificates will only be noted on the student's official transcript once the CHS office has received an official transcript from a college or university that shows a conferred Bachelor's or Master’s Degree.
Successful completion of a Graduate Certificate requires receipt of a B- or better in each course.
Successful completion of an Undergraduate Certificate requires receipt of a C or better in each course.
Because certificates are mailed to the primary address listed in the Student Information System within 30 days, it is important that you ensure that your address is current. Go to the Student Portal to update your address if necessary.
