SERVICE MANAGEMENT
General Information:
In today’s increasingly service-based industry, Service Management has become a popular emphasis for all business majors through the country. Service Management convers the management of service producing industries (in contrast to manufacturing and agricultural industries) by focusing on three key elements:
· service development
· service provisioning
· service management as an operational task
Service management requires operational and production methods that are different from manufacturing management. It is widely accepted that producing and selling goods requires offering a service in order to be competitive.
The Service Management area of emphasis in the UCCS College of Business is designed to provide skills and knowledge for those who will work in a management or professional capacity in the business sector, including healthcare support occupations, protective service occupations, food preparation and serving related occupations, building and grounds clearing and maintenance occupations, personal care and service occupations.
