Maintaining Your Club/Organization Status

Maintaining Your Club/Organization Status Once a student club has registered (or been recognized) that organization has several responsibilities in order to maintain their registration status:
  • At least one officer must attend an orientation meeting as a part of the registration process each year. These are scheduled several times at the beginning of the fall semester, and are offered periodically through the rest of the academic year. If an officer fails to attend one of these orientations, the organization will not be registered, and it will forfeit privileges of registration, including the right to petition SGA for funding or access Clyde’s Cash. Once the orientation requirement has been completed, the organization will become officially registered and retain all privileges of registration

  • Submit updated contact information for club and officers as the information changes. Please complete and submit the Officer Change Form to the Student Life and Leadership desk to update officer information. Failure to do so could jeopardized the club or organization’s status.

  • Register programs, events, or activities outside your regular meetings in advance with the Student Life and Leadership Office by filling out the Event Registration Form . The event registration process will help to create a “one stop shop” for your event planning purposes. Please make a tentative reservation for space and turn in the Event Registration Form at least three weeks in advance of your event. The department of Student Life and Leadership will assist in making arrangements with university offices. UCCS campus, your club is expected to uphold the same standard of respect as the university. This means you cannot discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, age, political affiliation, national origin, personal disability, veteran status, and/or sexual orientation.

  • Though not required, all student organizations are encouraged to have a university faculty or staff sponsor. These sponsors can be invaluable sources of information and encouragement. So how does a student organization go about getting an advisor?
    • Ask someone from an academic department related to your organization
    • Ask someone from an administrative office related to your organization
    • Have members ask their professors and around departments and offices to get the word out that your organization is seeking a sponsor
