We offer a number of group fitness sessions each semester, providing a variety of options for someone looking to improve their wellness in a high-energy setting! All it takes, along with your membership, is a trip to the Rec Center to pick up your Group Fitness Pass. The Group Fitness Pass is required to participate in any of the group fitness sessions, but it gets you access to any of the sessions anytime you want to join in the fun.
The pass is only $5.00 for students, and $10.00 for staff, faculty, alumni, and other members. Guests may also accompany you to class by paying the $5.00/day guest fee at the front desk or by buying a $45.00 punch card allowing them into 15 classes for the semester.
Zumba® - - ZUMBA® fuses hypnotic latin rhythms, international zest and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic workout system that will blow you away! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Taught by an official ZUMBA®-certified instructor.
CSI (Cardio Strength Intervals) - The perfect class for the total workout - a fusion of cardio and strength training intervals to keep your heart rate up and maximize fat burning potential. It is also a great class if you are looking for a kick butt workout that will make you sweat. This class is a 60 minute class.
Vinyasa (Flow Yoga) - This variety of Yoga focuses on "one breath, one movement" catering to all levels of fitness. We do have a limited number of mats available for participants who do not have their own! This is a beginner class.
Zen Booty - A fusion of traditional hatha yogic breathing practices set to an upbeat soundtrack to kick your asana. Finishing with a set of restorative poses and meditation to help you find your inner zen.
PILOXING® - Come try the latest Hollywood fitness craze! PILOXING uniquely blends the power, speed and agility of boxing with the beautiful sculpting and flexibility of Pilates. It is a fat torching, muscle sculpting, core-centric interval workout, guaranteed to whip you into shape. PILOXING is the brainchild of Swedish dancer and celebrity trainer Viveca Jensen. This class is taught by an official PILOXING®-certified instructor.
Stretching & Flexibility - From sports to working out, stretching is often overlooked! Being flexible can help prevent injuries, improve your performance, and help your overall wellness. Come join in, this 45 minute class is for everyone!
Intermediate/Advanced Vinyasa (Flow Yoga) - This variety of Yoga focuses on "one breath, one movement" catering to intermediate/advanced levels of yoga fitness. Come push your boundaries with this hour long class. We do have a limited number of mats available for participants who do not have their own!
Core Express - Looking for a great core workout in a half hour? Core Express is a challenging and efficient workout to target your abdominals, obliques, lower back, glutes and hips.
Hula Hoop Fitness - Hooping is a non-to-low impact aerobic exercise that can burn up to 420 calories per hour for moderate hooping - but YOU choose the intensity of your workout! Hooping engages the core your whole workout, and dancing to the great mix of music ups your cardio. You get improved muscle tone, balance, coordination, posture; and a new awareness of what your body is capable of. Different sizes and weights of hoops are provided during class - you will find one that will zip around you and give your core a great workout! This class is limited so please reserve your spot by either calling or signing up at the front desk from 6am to 12pm on Thursdays before the class starts!
Basic Dance - Learn basic ballet such as balance, core, and across the floor exercises which would consist of leaps and jumps. But like any class we must start by pointing our feet!
Aquaexercise - Aquacize offers a great cardio workout in a low-impact environment! We have everything you need for the class, you supply the energy, swimsuit, and towel.

Our instructors work very hard not to cancel classes, but sometimes illnesses, school work, and "life" get in the way. The best way to stay up to date on class cancellations, or changes to the schedule, is to follow us on Facebook and/or Twitter by clicking the links below. We will post all changes and cancellations to these two venues, or you can check the Twitter feed at the bottom center of our home page at www.uccs.edu/campusrec, so you never have to show up to find there is no class!
