The Outdoor Program exists to provide outdoor recreational experiences that emphasize skill acquisition, SAFETY, positive group dynamics, environmental awareness and FUN! These quality experiences are fostered through small groups of people on single to multi-day trips. Whether it be by land, water or snow, we hope you will take a day or more to slip quietly away with us on an adventure in the outdoors.
Registration: Registration begins on the first day of the semester and continues until the trip is full. Stop by the Recreation Center Front Desk with payment. Registration opens on the first day of the semester. Sign up early as space is limited.
Cancellation: The Outdoor Program reserves the right to cancel trips due to minimal sign-up, inclement weather or scheduling conflicts. The program is conducted on a non-profit basis and can only ensure minimum registration fees with proper student/instructor ratios.
Pre-Trip Meetings Are Mandatory: Certain activities require attendance at a pre-trip meeting. Information is related to your enjoyment and safety in the activity. These meetings are held in the Outdoor Center at the Recreation Center. Failure to make a meeting or contact the outdoor program coordinator disqualifies a student from participation. Most trips will require a minimal cost.
Food: You are expected to provide your own food for all single day trips. On multi-day trips, the cost of food is usually included in the trip price. Menu planning takes place at the pre-trip meeting.
Departure: Trips meet and depart from the Outdoor Center.
For More Information: To get more information on any of these trips, or anything else about the SOLE program contact Daniel Bowan at dbowan@uccs.edu or 255-3429.
