 Group Fitness

 

We offer a variety of group fitness classes in a high energy setting to support students and faculty/staff in reaching their personal health and fitness goals. Class formats serve all ability and skill levels, and vary in length from 30 to 60 minutes to suit a variety of schedules. Group fitness instructors will offer appropriate options in class for the first-time participant to the most experienced in order to provide both a challenging and successful experience.

 

For a nominal fee, students and faculty/staff can obtain a Group Fitness Pass for the semester - one pass, any class! Group fitness pass required to participate in classes. 15-class punch card options are available for non-members and the community.

 

Group Fitness Pass Price Structure

Students: $5 per semester

Faculty/staff: $10 per semester

15-class punch card: $45 per semester

* punch card valid for one semester only

 

Group Fitness Pass Refund Policy

Group Fitness passes are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Group Fitness Class Format Descriptions

Aqua Yoga

Aqua yoga is a restorative, gentle yoga format combining the resistance of water and equipment such as foam weights, noodles and garden kneeling pads to offer a unique yoga experience to participants. Conclude class in the spa practicing mudras (yoga of the hands) facing Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. Class length 60 minutes. Swimming experience not required. Water depth at most shoulder height. All ability and skill levels welcome.

 

Bootcamp

Looking for a high energy, strength and conditioning-based class that will push you to the next level? Bootcamp is the class format for you! This 60-minute class incorporates a variety of exercises and equipment to push participants to a new level of performance. Offered in the basketball gym and instructed by personal trainers in a non-traditional format. Previous experience in group fitness classes highly recommended.

 

Core Xpress

Looking for a time-efficient core workout? Core Xpress is a challenging 30-minute class targeting your abdominals and lower back, incorporating both body weight and a variety of equipment to introduce participants to new core exercises. All ability and skill levels welcome.

 

CSI (Cardio Strength Intervals)

Challenge yourself! During this 60-minute choreographed class, your instructor will have participants alternates between cardiovascular and strength based intervals combining body weight exercises and a variety of equipment like dumbells, body bars, medicine balls, steps, BOSU® and more. All ability and skill levels welcome.

 

Flexibility

Whether you are a weekend warrior, recreational exerciser or avid athlete, flexibility training is often the most overlooked component of fitness. Join us for the 45-minute class to increase your flexibility, which is proven to increase physical and mental relaxation, release muscle tension and soreness, and reduce the risk of injury. All ability and skill levels welcome.

 

Hula Hoop Fitness

This non-to-low impact 60-minute cardiovascular-based class combines dancing and core strengthening, improving muscle tone, balance, coordination and posture. Limited number of hoop sizes and weights provided. All ability and skill levels welcome.

 

Kickboxing

Kick your heart rate up a notch with this non-contact choreographed class combining moderate to high intensity combination and drills. This 60-minute class is guaranteed to increase cardiovascular fitness, endurance, strength and stamina. Previous experience in cardiovascular-based group fitness classes recommended, but not required.   

 

Masala Bhangra®

Immerse yourself in Indian culture with dance choreography directly influenced by modern Bhangra and Bollywood styles. The easy-to-follow, high energy dance movements will keep you moving for 60 minutes. Instructors are all Masala Bhangra® certified. All abilities and skill levels welcome.

 

Meditation

Quiet your mind and focus on inner-discovery during this guided 30-minute class. Meditation is proven to reduce anxiety and stress, lower blood pressure and improve sleep, so join us semester long to make meditation a part of your daily routine. All ability and skill levels welcome.

 

Yoga

“Vinyasa”, translated from Sanskrit, means “connection”. This form of yoga synchronizes movement and breathing, combining sun salutations, standing, core and spine-strengthening postures and concluding with svanasana to harmonize mind, body and spirit. Class length 60 minutes. All ability and skill levels welcome.

 

Zen Booty

This 60-minute format offers a fusion of traditional hatha yoga breathing practices set to an upbeat soundtrack to kick your asana. Conclude class with restorative poses and meditation to help you find your inner zen. All ability and skill levels welcome.

 

Zumba®

Join the party! Latin-inspired rhythms fused with easy-to-follow choreography, dance moves and intervals create the ultimate 60-minute full body workout. Zumba® is one of the most, if not the most successful dance formats in the world, and is here to stay. Just dance! Dance! Dance! Instructors are all Zumba® certified. All abilities and skill levels welcome.
