Frequently Asked Questions about Club Sports

What is a Club Sport?

A club sport is a "registered" and "recognized" student organization.  Club Sports consist of a group of students who share a common interest in a physical activity.  These students promote and develop the skills necessary for a particular sport.  Club sport teams travel and compete against other colleges and universities while filling the void between intramurals and intercollegiate athletics.

How do I join a Club Sport?

Club Sports teams are open to all students, faculty and staff of UCCS; however the majority of the club should consist of students.  Visit the Club Sports Office to find out more information about a particular sport or visit IM Leagues to join a Club Sports team. Please review the following checklists for requirements:

In order to properly organize the Club Sports program we have set up a web based registration and entry procedures through IM Leagues. Join all club sports via web.

 To join a Club Sport follow these guidelines: 

 All club sport members will be required to create an account on IMLeagues.com. 

To create an IMLeagues account: **Note** IMLeagues offers a live support button in the top right corner of all pages, please use this button if you encounter any difficulties. 

1.       Go to http://www.imleagues.com/Schools/uccs/Registration 

     OR

b.      Go to www.IMLeagues.com and click Create Account

 2.       Enter your information, and use your UCCS email (@uccs.edu) and submit.

 3.       You will be sent an activation email, click the link in the email to login and activate your IMLeagues account.

 4.       You should be automatically joined to your school – If not you can search schools by clicking the “Schools” link

 

How to sign up for a club sport:

1.       Log in to your IMLeagues.com account.

 

2.       Click on the “University of Colorado Colorado Springs” link to go to your school’s homepage on IMLeagues.

 

3.       Click on the “Club” tab located in center of page right above welcome text. 

 

4.       Choose the club you would like to join and click

 

5.       Choose the club again in the division settings and click

 

a.       Join a team

                                                              i.      Use the Create/Join Team Button at top right of every page

                                                             ii.      Accepting a request from the captain to join his team

                                                            iii.      Finding the team and captain name on division/league page and requesting to join

                                                           iv.      Going to the captain’s playercard page, viewing his team, and requesting to join

How do I start a Club Sport?

All groups wishing to establish a new Club Sports team must complete the student organization recognition process with the Student Life Office.  Recognition packets are available for pick up at the Student Life Office.  Upon successful recognition, a Club Sports must then meet with the Club Sports Coordinator to determine eligibility.

How many students do you need to start a Club Sport?

The minimum number of students is 10.

Is there funding available for Club Sports?

Yes.  As student organizations, Club Sports are able to submit budget requests to the Student Government Association.
