Jane M. Young is a Certified Financial Planner and co-owner of Pinnacle Financial Concepts, Inc. and Divorce Solutions, Inc. She has been a financial planner since 1996. She specializes in financial planning for widows, widowers, divorcees and Baby Boomer households. Jane holds a BS in Business Administration and an MBA from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Jane is very active in the community. She's a past president of the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs and a past president of Leadership Pikes Peak. She is a graduate of the Leadership Pikes Peak class of 2004. She is also a graduate of the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute class of 2011 and the Leadership Program of the Rockies class of 2009.
Jane Hammoud, Past ChairJane Hammoud holds an MBA from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and an undergraduate degree from Penn State University. She is owner of Forward Focused Leadership, a consulting company to help nonprofits, civic groups and trade associations develop their capacity to achieve their full potential. In addition to her work as a facilitator she has over 25 years of experience serving in CEO/Executive Director positions in nonprofit organizations. As an individual interested in her community, she has served on numerous boards and has been an active member of the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs for 15 years and in the UCCS College of Business Alumni Association.
Samantha Bruner, Alumni Relations StaffA proud graduate of the College of Business at UCCS, Samantha became an entrepreneur in 2010 with the launching of her business, Colorado Springs Food Tours. She is also a Certified Professional Résumé Writer and finds joy in helping others find success in their career goals. Having graduated from the Leadership Pikes Peak program for young professionals, Leadership NOW!, in 2008, representing Southern Colorado in an International Rotary Exchange in 2011, and remaining very active in local community service and initiatives, Samantha continues to pursue opportunities to grow as a leader and to invest in the well-being of others around her.
Judi Lakin, Lifetime Entrepreneurship Planning ChairJudi Laking is a senior account executive at Graham Advertising and earned her MBA from UCCS in 1984. She chairs the Lifetime Entrepreneurship Planning team.

Christy graduated from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in 2001 with a degree in Finance and in 2003 with her MBA. Following graduation, she started a career in banking. She has worked at FirstBank for 8 years and currently serves as a Senior Vice President in the Colorado Springs Market. She manages a $40 million branch, originates commercial real estate and mortgage loans, and is active in the community. At CU, Christy is the current president of the UCCS Alumni & Friends Association and is on the College of Business Alumni Leadership in addition to serving on the board for Child Care Connections and the Children's Literacy Center.
Al Maes, Networking Co-ChairAl Maes is an Account Executive with an IT Staffing firm. He graduated from UCCS with a BS BU with an emphasis in Organizational Management. He serves on the College of Business Alumni Association Leadership Team as co-chair of the Networking Team.
Becky Medved, Past Chair, Community Outreach Co-ChairBecky Medved is the CEO for Peak Age, a company with ties to the CU Aging Center that delivers software applications and solutions to assist people diagnosed with dementia or cognitive impairment. Prior to joining Peak Age, Medved was a Principal and vice president of Customer Relationship Management and marketing services at Saligent, Inc., a sales lead management company. She holds a BA in Communications from the University of Colorado Boulder and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Medved is an active volunteer in the community and served as past Chair of the Alumni Association Leadership Team.
Danny Mientka, Past ChairSince 1985, Danny Mientka has exercised his entrepreneurial skills in the real estate fields of investment management, commercial leasing, and land development in Colorado Springs. Danny's high level of professionalism, keen awareness of market trends, and investment savvy decisions have earned him a loyal client list. Danny received his undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from Regis College in 1983 and his MBA in Marketing from UCCS in 1993. He currently serves as The Equity Group's President. As a Colorado Springs native, Danny enjoys giving back to the local community by investing in our next generation of leaders through educational institutions and programs.
Joan SchulzJoan L. Schulz is a prime example of a non-traditional college student. Shortly after graduating from high school she married her high school sweetheart. After her husband joined the Army, she attended college wherever they were stationed including during his two tours in Viet Nam. Soon after moving to Colorado Springs, Joan's husband died and she went back to college. She earned both her BA and MBA at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Joan's career spanned 26 years working for companies such as Systems Development Corp. and Lockheed Martin. At Lockheed she was the Program Manger of several multi-million dollar programs. She's a past president of the board for Susan G. Komen for the Cure and a past member of the UCCS TheatreWorks board.
Janet Suthers, Community Outreach Co-ChairJanet Suthers earned her BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder and her MBA from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. She is retired from a rewarding career with Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies where she held numerous positions in the Logistics and Finance organizations. In addition to her service on the Alumni Leadership Team, Janet serves on the City Planning Commission and the executive boards for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Pikes Peak Community College and Winter Night Club. She is a past president of the Cheyenne Mountain Board of Education and a former executive director of the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute (CSLI). She is a graduate of CSLI and Leadership Pikes Peak.
Sam Taylor, Networking Co-ChairSam Taylor received a BS in Business and a Certificate in Gerontology from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Sam is the Facilities Director at The Palisades at Broadmoor Park where he is proud to be a part of the team that keeps the Palisades running smoothly. He has a strong background in retail management and facilities and grounds maintenance. He started with Dunn & Associates in 2004 and quickly rose to Property Director for the Fillmore Crossing Apartments and Efficiencies. As the son of a combat veteran he is active in the 5th Battalion 60th Infantry Regiment Association and Bandido Charlie Association. Sam recently won 'The Colorado Springs Gazette Best Of' silver award for ‘Best Notary.'
