Christy Lehmpuhl is currently a Senior Vice President of the Colorado Springs Market and has worked for FirstBank since 2003. In this role she oversees the operations and lending functions for the Colorado Springs Market. Christy has experience in many areas of real estate lending, including commercial and construction projects as well as mortgage financing. Christy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and an MBA from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. She also graduated from the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, WI. Christy has been active in the community, and her board involvement includes the Children's Literacy Center, Child Care Connections, the UCCS College of Business Alumni Association and the UCCS Alumni Board.
Jane M. Young is a Certified Financial Planner and co-owner of It's Not Just Money, Inc. and Divorce Solutions, Inc. She has been a financial planner since 1996 and provides comprehensive financial planning including investment management, retirement planning and tax planning and preparation, specializing in working with widows and widowers. Prior to becoming a financial planner, Jane held several management positions at Digital Equipment Corporation and Quantum Corporation, where she worked for 14 years. Jane holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado and an MBA from the University of Colorado. She is very active in the community, and her involvements include the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs, Leadership Pikes Peak, the Financial Planning Association of Southern Colorado, the Pikes Peak Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners, the Estate Planning Council, Artemis, the Senior Resource Council and the Winter Nights Club. Jane was selected as a 2010 Woman of Influence by the Colorado Springs Business Journal.
Jane Hammoud holds an MBA from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and an undergraduate degree from Penn State University. She is owner of Forward Focused Leadership, a consulting company to help nonprofits, civic groups and trade associations develop their capacity to achieve their full potential. In addition to her work as a facilitator she has over 25 years of experience serving in CEO/Executive Director positions in nonprofit organizations. As an individual interested in her community, she has served on numerous boards and has been an active member of the Rotary Club of Colorado Springs for 15 years and in the UCCS College of Business Alumni Association.
A proud graduate of the College of Business at UCCS with a degree in Business Marketing and Professional Writing in 2006, Samantha became an entrepreneur in 2010 with the launching of her business, Colorado Springs Food Tours. She is also a Certified Professional Résumé Writer and finds joy in helping others find success in their career goals. Having graduated from the Leadership Pikes Peak program for young professionals, Leadership NOW!, in 2008, representing Southern Colorado in an International Rotary Exchange in 2011, and remaining very active in local community service and initiatives, Samantha continues to pursue opportunities to grow as a leader and to invest in the well-being of others around her. She is currently pursuing her MBA at UCCS.
Al earned his BS BU from UCCS in 1995 with an emphasis in Human Resource and Organizational Management. He is currently the Director of Regional Sales for NexTech Solutions, a staffing solutions firm that specializes in the placement of contract and permanent employees within the Technology, Accounting, Finance arenas. He has over 18 years of experience in the Human Resource and Staffing industry with a passion for the relationship between human capital and business. In the past, Al has served as the Chair of the UCCS Alumni association and Student Dean of the Business School. Active in the community, he has served on several local boards to include the Multiple Sclerosis Alliance of Southern Colorado.
Becky Medved is COO of RCSPros, LLC, a software company that improves senior living residents care through effective communication and the tracking and delivery of person-centered care. Becky has over 35 years of experience in direct marketing, corporate communications, PR, and product development including as a Principal, and vice president of Customer Relationship Management and marketing services at Saligent, Inc., a sales lead management company. She holds a BA in Communications from the University of Colorado and an MBA in Marketing the UCCS. Currently, Becky is a Trustee of the CU Foundation, member of the UCCS Ambassadors, member of the UCCS College of Business Advisory Board, and member of the President's Advisory Council at Pikes Peak Community College. She is a member and past President of the UCCS College of Business Alumni Association and a current Trustee for the Penrose-St. Francis Board.
Since 1985, Danny Mientka has exercised his entrepreneurial skills in the real estate fields of investment management, commercial leasing, and land development in Colorado Springs. Danny's high level of professionalism, keen awareness of market trends, and investment savvy decisions have earned him a loyal client list. Danny received his undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from Regis College in 1983 and his MBA in Marketing from UCCS in 1993. He currently serves as The Equity Group's President. As a Colorado Springs native, Danny enjoys giving back to the local community by investing in our next generation of leaders through educational institutions and programs.
Joan L. Schulz is a prime example of a non-traditional college student. Shortly after graduating from high school she married her high school sweetheart. After her husband joined the Army, she attended college wherever they were stationed including during his two tours in Viet Nam. Soon after moving to Colorado Springs, Joan's husband died and she went back to college. She earned both her BA and MBA at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Joan's career spanned 26 years working for companies such as Systems Development Corp. and Lockheed Martin. At Lockheed she was the Program Manger of several multi-million dollar programs. She's a past president of the board for Susan G. Komen for the Cure and remains a board member, and is a member of the UCCS TheatreWorks board. She and her husband founded Hausmusik.
Janet Suthers earned her MBA from UCCS. She is retired from Hewlett-Packard/Agilent Technologies and is currently Vice President of Business Development for RCSPros, a small company that provides caregiver software for senior living facilities. In addition to her service on the Alumni Leadership Team, Janet serves on boards for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and Pikes Peak Community College. Prior board leadership includes the Cheyenne Mountain Board of Education, the Colorado Springs City Planning Commission, the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute (CSLI), Winter Night Club and National Charity League.
Sam Taylor received a BS in Business and a Certificate in Gerontology from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Sam is a Senior Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton where he supports the AEFH satellite T&E team and also processes and assists in adjudicating discrepancy reports. Previously, he was the Facilities Director at The Palisades at Broadmoor Park. He has a strong background in retail management and facilities and grounds maintenance. He started with Dunn & Associates in 2004 and quickly rose to Property Director for the Fillmore Crossing Apartments and Efficiencies. As the son of a combat veteran he is active in the 5th Battalion 60th Infantry Regiment Association and Bandido Charlie Association. Sam recently won 'The Colorado Springs Gazette Best Of' silver award for ‘Best Notary.'
Sandi Yukman received her Bachelor of Science Degree from University of Colorado, Boulder with an emphasis in Management Information Systems. She received her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs with an emphasis in Finance. She worked as an executive for Colorado Springs Utilities for 23 years responsible for areas such as Information Technology, Risk Management, Facilities, Business Continuity, Training and Development, and Human Resources. She also has served on many community non-profit boards such as Better Business Bureau Foundation Board, Red Cross Board, American Heart Association Board, InRoads of Southern Colorado Board, Girl Scouts Wagon Wheel Council Board, Child Nursery Center (Early Connections Learning Center) Board of Directors, Pikes Peak Therapeutic Riding Center and currently sits as the Vice President of the Incline Friends Board of Directors.
Norman Morse, Student Outreach Committee Co-Chair
Norman Morse is a senior sales and marketing executive with over 30 years experience in the consumer products industry. His corporate background encompasses consumer businesses with Fortune 500 top leading companies. Norman has led sales teams as Executive Vice President of the 1928 Costume Jewelry Company; Vice President of Yves Saint Laurent perfumes and cosmetics, Vice President of Royal Doulton China, and Director of Sales and Marketing Parker Pen USA. He has been recognized as a growth leader with expertise in planning, implementing and executing national marketing and tactical sales strategies. His proven channel management in the analysis of markets, products, and competitive situations includes the design and leadership of sales and marketing initiatives and achievements that identified new profitability strategies while enhancing existing revenue streams. His ability to reengineer sales divisions has been built on the philosophy of creating "winning strategies" to consistently increase productivity and profitability. Norman attended Northeastern University in Chicago, IL.
Venkat Reddy, Dean
Venkat Reddy serves as Dean of the College of Business at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs since 2004. Dr. Reddy has played a critical role in the success and external recognition of the college's academic programs. He was instrumental in some of the school's major initiatives, including the development of the undergraduate online programs, Distance MBA Program and successful completion of its Maintenance of Accreditation with AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Under Dr. Reddy's leadership, the college was recognized by US News and World Report as being among the top 25 business programs at western public universities. He is most proud of the great group of faculty, staff, and alumni who work hard to further the college's vision of building successful futures. He serves on several boards in our community including the Colorado Springs Regional Business Alliance.
