Study at Home and Abroad

Frankfurt School of Finance and ManagementThe Frankfurt School of Finance and Management (FSM) and UCCS are cooperating to offer Business students a Dual Degree.  Upon successful completion of this unique program, students majoring in International Business Administration or other selected majors will be awarded a bachelor's degree from both the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and UCCS.

The Partners

Frankfurt School of Finance and Management is one of Germany's foremost institutes of higher education and offers an extensive portfolio of nationally and FIBAA-accredited study programs, from bachelor's to general master's and doctoral programs. The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is among the fastest growing universities in the US. The College of Business and Administration is accredited by AACSB International and is among the top one-third nationally for all undergraduate business programs in the country. US News and World Report recently ranked the College of Business 22nd out of all western public colleges of business. The College of Business offers 11 undergraduate areas of emphasis and 12 MBA areas of emphasis.

The Basic Elements of the Dual Degree

As a dual degree student, you will complete basic required courses at your home university prior to your study abroad year. Students from the FSM can expect to spend their 4th and 5th semesters at UCCS. Students from UCCS can expect to spend their junior year (5th and 6th semesters) studying at FSM. During your study abroad year, you will select from a set of courses designed with an international focus at your partner university. All courses will be taught in English, and students from the US will follow a curriculum designed to advance their proficiency in the German language.

After your study abroad year, you will return to your home university to complete appropriate upper division coursework which may lead to a concentration in a specific business area. You will participate in  internships which can be completed in either Germany or the United States.

Upon successful completion of all degree requirements, you will be awarded the degree of Bachelor of Science in International Business from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and the degree of Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.

Tuition, Fees and Travel Expenses

During your year abroad, you will pay the applicable tuition and fees at your home institution. You are responsible for your own travel and living expenses. Scholarships from your home university may be available during this period.

Living and Accommodation

The International Office of the Frankfurt School and the College of Business at UCCS will provide assistance in making your study abroad successful. Both institutions will assist you with obtaining a student visa, enrollment and arrival, finding suitable living accommodations, insurance, bank accounts, and more. Each institution will provide important pre-departure information to ensure a safe, pleasant and memorable experience.
