MBA International Application Checklist

Application to the UCCS MBA program requires the following steps and documents.  Following the checklist below will ensure a rapid application process.

  1. Online Application

  2. $75 non-refundable application fee: send check or money order made out to UCCS to address listed on the right or pay with credit card/electronic check while filling out the online application form.

  3. Official scores on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) OR official scores on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).

    • GMAT Information:

      • Program code: PS4-4-f-02.

      • UCCS will be listed as an option under Part-time MBA Programs.

      • The average admitted applicant total test score is 540-560.

    • GRE Information:

      • The UCCS school code for the GRE is 4874

      • The Business Department code for the GRE is 4201

      • The average admitted applicant score is 150 on each section (verbal & quantitative).

      • Applicants need to take the general test ONLY

    • GMAT Waiver Petition:

      • An applicant who has already earned an advanced degree (e.g. equivalent to a U.S. master's or higher) may petition for a waiver of the GMAT requirement. The GMAT Waiver Petition must be completed and submitted with the application materials. Waivers are not automatic and must be approved by the MBA Admissions Committee.

  4. Official scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

    • The UCCS test code is 4874

    • Minimum score accepted by UCCS:

      • Internet based: 80

      • Computer based: 213

      • Paper based: 550

    • UCCS TOEFL score waiver requirements: Applicant has a degree from the United States or the language of instruction for bachelor's degree was English

    • TOEFL Alternative: You can also take the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), which requires a minimum overall band score of 6.0.

  5. One (1) official sealed transcript from every institution of higher learning ever attended, regardless of the number of credit hours taken or degrees earned. Must have graduated with a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.

    • If you are a former UCCS student who has attended classes within the past 4 years, the MBA office should be able to access your UCCS transcripts and any other previously provided transcripts directly from the Office of Admissions & Records.

  6. Photocopy of Bachelor's diploma/certificate

  7. Current Resume

  8. Statement of Interest: The Statement of Interest is your chance to address the Admissions Committee. You should explain why you want to pursue an MBA and what you bring to the program. This is also a good place to address any weaknesses in your application (i.e., low test score, lack of work experience, inconsistent undergraduate grades, etc.). The Statement of Interest does not have any length requirements but is generally 1-2 pages.

  9. Optional: Letters of Recommendation

  10. Non - U.S. citizens that are already in the U.S. must submit one or more of the following documents with their application:

    • Copy of Visa

    • Copy of Alien Registration Card

    • Copy of I-94

MBA students are expected to demonstrate a proficient use of the English language, both oral and written. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is also expected. If a student is deficient in any of these skills, it is their responsibility to mitigate the deficiency before enrolling in the program.

The application checklist above is for students seeking regular, full admission to the MBA program. Students seeking conditional admission should used the Conditional Admission Checklist.

April 1st

The application process should begin 2-4 months prior to the deadlines listed above. This allows sufficient time for transcripts to arrive and the GMAT or GRE to be taken.
