Certificate Application Checklist

Application to the Graduate Business Certificate program requires the following steps and documents. Using the checklist below will ensure a rapid application process.

  1. Program Application (pdf) Start Here

  2. One (1) official sealed transcript from every institution of higher learning ever attended, regardless of the number of credit hours taken or degrees earned. Must have graduated with a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

    • If you are a former UCCS student who has attended classes within the past 4 years, the MBA office should be able to access your UCCS transcripts and any other previously provided transcripts directly from the Office of Admissions & Records.

  3. Current Resume

  4. $25 non-refundable application fee: send check or money order made out to UCCS to address listed on the right.

  5. Non - U.S. citizens must submit the one or more of the following documents with their application:

    • Copy of Visa

    • Copy of Alien Registration Card

    • Copy of I-94

No GMAT, GRE or other entrance exams are required.

Graduate Certificate students are expected to demonstrate a proficient use of the English language, both oral and written. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)  is also expected. If a student is deficient in any of these skills, it is their responsibility to mitigate the deficiency before enrolling in the program.

If applicant does not meet GPA requirement, other criteria may be considered (i.e., additional post-graduate coursework taken, several years of progressive relevant work experience, letters of recommendation, etc.).

The Certificate program is designed for students who have not yet taken the GMAT or GRE. Students who previously applied to the MBA program and were refused are not eligible to apply.

Certificate Application Deadlines

Fall Semester:
August 1st

Spring Semester:
December 15th

Summer Semester:
May 15th
(April 15th for students that plan to take summer interim "spummer" classes.)

Certificate students should apply at least four (4) weeks prior to the start of classes.
