Michael A. Scialdone is the CEO of Colorado Springs' Memorial Hospital, which recently became a part of University of Colorado Health. He came to Memorial in November 2008 when he was hired as chief financial officer. He was appointed interim CEO in May 2012.
Mr. Scialdone has more than 22 years of experience in healthcare leadership, almost 20 of which are at the executive level. He has served in leadership roles at multiple major hospitals in for profit, nonprofit and public sectors. Prior to coming to Memorial, he served as CFO at Penrose-St. Francis Health Services.
Mr. Scialdone has kept the organization’s operations and finances strong with an emphasis on the hospital's mission of providing the highest quality care. His “call to vigilance,” in which employees are inspired to focus on quality, operations and financial sustainability, has helped Memorial to thrive under trying circumstances.
At the March EPIIC Nights event, Mr. Scialdone will discuss:
- Future of Memorial and University of Colorado Health
- Memorial's vision for community partnerships with UCCS and others
- Benefits and opportunities for our community
Mr. Scialdone graduated with honors from Auburn University, where he earned a B.S. Degree in Finance. He has served on numerous nonprofit boards, including the boards of SET and Mission Medical Clinic, local safety net clinics.
