This high-impact training program will provide banking professionals with skills to make more educated lending decisions and effectively analyze financial statements and ratios with more confidence.  Attendees will learn the accounting principles behind financial statements including inventory, leases, and more.  Whether you are new to the commercial lending industry, or need a refresher in financial reporting and analysis, this course is for you.

This intensive workshop is customized for the banking and lending industry, and is facilitated by exceptional faculty with expertise and experience in accounting, banking and finance. 

This two-day program is for both professionals in the banking and finance industry.  Recommended participants include:  commercial loan officers, commercial bankers, credit officers, credit analysts, credit granters, loan committee members, underwriters, branch managers, retail bankers, and key lending decision-makers.

Case studies and assignments will require participants to immediately apply what they have learned to their workplaces.  

NEW IN 2015 ::
This program will include more hands-on, in-class assignments to apply skills learned. Participants will analyze financial statements and calculate ratios using real statements to gain a real-world understanding. An assignment will be given before the class begins.

Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from the UCCS College of Business, and 1.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from UCCS.

  6. Audited vs. reviewed vs. compilations of statements
  7. Selected financial reporting issues, including leases, inventory, depreciation, footnotes, loan covenants, long-term debt, and disposable income
  8. Basics of financial statements
  9. Introduction of case studies

Day 2  ::  How Financial Reporting Rules Affect Financial Statements  |  Friday, February 27 ::  8:30 am - 4:30 pm

  1. Cash flows-statements, effects, and disposable income
  2. Financial statement analysis "on steroids"
  3. Financial ratios: what do they really mean?
