The UCCS Sport Management program is a specialty emphasis area that allows students to pursue the combination of the business field with the sports industry. Our program has excellent internship opportunities with a variety of sport organizations where our students are exposed to excellent learning and networking opportunities.
Sport continues to be a dominant sector in society and the business economy with the latest figures (2010) suggesting the global sports industry to be worth up to $620 billion (AT Kearney, 2011) with the North American value set at $53.6 billion (PricewaterhouseCoopers, 2013). If you are passionate about sport and want to pursue a business degree, this is a great way to blend both together.
"For my industry, I don't think there's a better place than UCCS. Not only would I find more one-on-one relationships with professors, I'd have the presence of the U.S. Olympic Committee, the Olympic Training Center and the professional teams in Denver. I knew the opportunities for internships would be really good."
