Blood Management Division- Laboratory Technician Perform Quality Assurance and Research laboratory operation for the Blood Management Division.

Laboratory Coordinator Responsibilities:

1. Laboratory Setup: Coordinate all aspects of operation for the following laboratories: BIO1060, BIO1200, BIO1210, BIO2130
2. Laboratory Inventory: Responsible for maintaining laboratory disposable supplies for all biology laboratories.
3. Equipment Maintenance: Responsible for maintaining and upgrading laboratory equipment, including specialized scientific equipment and computer systems.
4. Chemical and Laboratory Safety Coordinator: Responsible for laboratory chemical disposal and coordination of student laboratory safety training.

Special Duties:

1. Research Laboratory Supply : Maintain communication with professor regarding ordering of supplies for ongoing research projects.
2. STEM Program Room and Supply Coordinator: Work closely with STEM program personnel to provide rooms, equipment, and chemicals.
3. Science Experiment Supervisor: Provide a laboratory and supervised environment for middle and high school students to perform science fair projects .

Research Interests:

I attended Mesa State College over 25 years ago and planned on developing a career in Agricultural Science, I soon discovered that my interests in Biology far exceeded my interest in Agriculture. Biological systems are extremely unique, I never once have found myself tired of what I am doing. I also realized, Biology has so many different areas and so many amazing and intelligent people. UCCS is wonderful place to come to work every day. I also realized that showing others how much I love Biology gives others them a peek of what an exciting field Biology can be.
