Student research opportunities

A variety of projects are available or will be considered, such as those (a) regarding communication between bacterial cells during formation of a biofilm (such as those forming dental plaque); (b) investigating the incidence and prevalence of antibiotic resistance among soil-dwelling bacteria in and around farms and ranches in Colorado; (c) examining the ability of antibiotic-resistance bacterial cells to protect non-resistant cells in mixed or in pure culture.
