What is the RN to BSN Online option?

The RN to BSN Online Program option is an online degree completion program for the Registered Nurse seeking a bachelor's degree (BSN.)

Admission requirements for the RN to BSN include:

  1. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher from ALL colleges ever attended
  2. RN within 3 years of graduation may apply for entry without clinical practice experience
  3. RN who graduated more than 3 years ago must have at least 1,000 hours of clinical experience within the last 3 years
  4. A letter documenting those 1,000 hours of clinical practice must be signed and on the letterhead of the agency where the 1000 hours were earned
  5. RN who graduated more than 3 years ago and DO NOT have at least 1,000 hours of clinical experience must complete an approved RN Refresher course prior to admission to the program.
  6. A current unrestricted RN License

All application steps must be completed or your application will be delayed.

  1. Please download and follow the application checklist.
  2. Complete an Undergraduate Transfer Application. Go to https://www.uccsadmissions.org/transfer/
  3. Pay the $50 application fee.
  4. You will also need to complete the Supplemental Application which is included as a link at the bottom of the Undergraduate Transfer Application.
  5. Email a copy of your RN license AND a signed letter from the agency where you earned your 1,000 hours of clinical practice (if you earned your RN 3+ years ago) to Tanya Armijo at tarmijo@uccs.edu.
  6. Submit official transcripts from ALL colleges you have attended to

Admitted Students: You have been admitted to our program as a resident of the particular state in which you resided at the time of application. If you plan to move to a different state while in our program, or do any practicum hours in a different state, it is your responsibility to check our List of Approved States to make sure that you may continue in our program after moving to that state.

*3 credit hours of  NURS 4450 Community Health clinical must be arranged by the student with faculty approval within the home community | NURS 3010 Pathophysiology - credit may be transferred in OR this course may be taken on site at the UCCS campus.
