Baccalaureate education provides the entry level preparation for professional nursing practice. Graduate education at the Master's level prepares students for advanced practice, research and leadership roles with in the profession of nursing. The college provides programs which support the concept of seamless articulation.
The faculty accepts the responsibility for the selection and progression of students and for developing, implementing, and systematically evaluating the programs to enhance nursing education and practice. After completing the BSN program, the graduate will be able to:

BSN ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Beth-El College recruits and selects the best qualified person without regard to race, sex, religion, color, age, handicap, nationality or marital status. Applicants must be High School graduates. High School graduates from 1988 onward must have completed the High School courses.

For those applicants who have less than 30 semester hours of college work, a composite ACT score of 24 or an SAT score of 1080 and a high school ranking in the upper 30% of the high school graduating class and a GPA of 3.3 or higher is required. The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) accepted in lieu of the ACT test scores (1080 or higher).
Students who have a previous conviction for a felony may not be eligible for placement in clinical assignments and may not be allowed to sit for the State Board of Nursing exam (NCLEX) even if they complete a degree in nursing. Contact the Colorado State Board of Nursing for additional information prior to application to Beth-El College of Nursing & Health Sciences.
Freshmen
Students who meet admission criteria are admitted into the Nursing program as Nursing Prep majors.
- Students who are admitted to the Nursing Prep Program with a 3.3 GPA must maintain a 3.3 GPA. Once the first level course work is completed with a 3.3 GPA, they may apply for admission to the nursing program as a Nursing major. This application would include the following:
- GPA of 3.3 or greater.
- Completion of profile
- Completion of a background check
- Completion of a Pre-Admission Exam
The Pre-Admission Exam tests the course material the student has completed during the first level coursework. The admission committee will review all applicants at that time to determine who will be accepted as a nursing major. For students who are accepted as a nursing major, they will start their second year course work and continue to progress thru the curriculum. For those students who are not selected for admission, they may change their major to another field of study, apply to another school or choose to apply the following semester. Students are only allowed to apply twice and will be considered along with all of the other students applying with no preferential consideration because they are seeking admission again
Students entering as freshmen are able to complete the program in four years if a full academic load with successful completion of course is maintained.
There will be a limited number (20-30) admission slots available per year for outstanding academic performance and for those demonstrating significant leadership potential for the profession
Transfer Students
Students who have attended a collegiate institution other than CU may apply as transfer students if they have completed 30 credit hours of transferable college level work.
- Applicants for the nursing program must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better.
- Transfer students must be in good standing and eligible to return to all institutions previously attended.
- While transferability of credit is determined by the Admissions Office, final application to the degree program is determined by the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
- Students who meet admission criteria are admitted into the Nursing program under Nursing Prep.

DISCRETIONARY CLINICAL SPOT POLICY
Beth El College of Nursing and Health Sciences reserves the right to waive the wait list requirements for a select number of students each semester based on outstanding circumstances listed below. Requests for discretionary admission must meet application deadlines each semester. All students that are provided a discretionary clinical spot must meet all the requirements for admission to Beth El undergraduate nursing program, in addition to the listed additional criteria.
- ROTC or military students receiving time-framed funding for BSN education programs.
- Outstanding GPA (3.8 or above), priority ranked if number of students are greater than allotted spaces. Not all students may receive a spot.
- Demonstrated outstanding leadership activity as outlined in a letter addressed to the Dean of Beth El College of Nursing and Health Sciences, accompanied by three professional references.
The Beth El College of Nursing and Health Sciences Admissions and Progressions Committee will make the decisions on the discretionary spots in consultation with the Nursing Academic Advisor from student success.
