Michael Salter is a self-proclaimed "obsessive observer", sifting through the avalanche of mass media and corporate branding to find poignant, absurd, and baffling pieces which become part of his work. His work bridges all disciplines from product and toy design, to kinetic sculpture, logotypes, animation, and signage.

The ICP or Instant Composers Pool is a long-standing Amsterdam-based group that blends European improvised music, jazz, chamber orchestra and executes that in the Dutch irreverant style known as "Dutch Swing." All these forces combine into a highly sophisticated yet enjoyable music that has astonished and impressed music lovers for several decades.

Award-winning writer Alan Bennett is reunited with director Nicholas Hytner and Olivier Award-winning actress Frances de la Tour. People spoil things; there are so many of them and the last thing one wants is them traipsing through one’s house. But with the park a jungle and a bath on the billiard table, what is one to do? Dorothy (Frances de la Tour) wonders if an attic sale could be a solution.

Pauline Oliveros is a senior figure in contemporary American music. Her career spans fifty years of boundary dissolving music making. In the '50s she was part of a circle of iconoclastic composers, artists, poets gathered together in San Francisco. Recently awarded the John Cage award for 2012 from the Foundation of Contemporary Arts, Oliveros is Distinguished Research Professor of Music at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY, and Darius Milhaud Artist-in-Residence at Mills College. We are delighted to have this legendary musician at UCCS! Parking is free on campus all day Saturday.

Ibsen and the Nordic artistic legends will be discussed… and since it is the last Prologue of the season, we will probably bring in some Scandinavian treats!

It’s 1974 and the corridors of Westminster ring with the sound of infighting and backbiting as Britain’s political parties battle to change the future of the nation, whatever it takes. In this hung parliament, the ruling party holds on by a thread. Votes are won and lost by one, fist fights erupt in the bars, and ill MPs are hauled in to cast their votes.
