White House Highlights Chancellor, UCCS as "Champions of Change"

Pam Shockley-Zalabak Each week the White House highlights “Champions of Change” who are making an impact in communities and helping America rise to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

In September, UCCS Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak, was selected as a “Champion of Change” and participated in a roundtable discussion on the positive impact of many community colleges across the nation. Shockley-Zalabak talked about the Southern Colorado Education Consortium, a partnership between two and four-year colleges in southern Colorado to improve student success in the region. (More)

Purdue University Honors Fenell

David Fenell, professor, College of Education, recently received a distinguished alumni award from the Purdue University College of Education.

Fenell was one of five people honored in Oct. 6 ceremonies at the West Lafayette, Ind., campus. Fenell earned a doctoral degree in counselor education from Purdue in 1979.

He joined the UCCS faculty in 1984 and recently retired after 26 years of military service from the U.S. Army as a colonel in the Medical Services Corps.
