Alumni Connections: College of Education, March 2011
Thank you for your continued support of alumni relations programming at UCCS.
This month, I'd like to encourage you to join us for our semi-annual Alumni Advancement Lecture Series on Saturday, April 2 (full event details below and online). Chancellor Pam Shockley-Zalabak will give a campus update, followed by the keynote presentation "The 11th Commandment: Thou Shall Not 'Wing' It" from University of Colorado President Emeritus John Buechner.
The event is a great opportunity to build essential career skills - in this case, the tools for persuasion and networking - and to meet fellow graduates from the Front Range. We'll have a free breakfast buffet and optional campus tour as well, so please join us!
We hope to see you on campus soon,
Jennifer Hane, BA '01, MPA '04
UCCS hosted the Colorado Science Olympiad Southern Regional Tournament for middle and high school students on March 5.
More than 900 middle school and high school students from around southern Colorado competed in events that ranged from building a Rube Goldberg machine to a CSI style forensics exercise and wind and percussion instrument building contests. This year, the number of events rose to 37, culminating with the Sumo Bots Final Competition in the Gallogly Events Center. (More)
