CISCO, UCCS Partnership Shared with Global Audience
 After a semester-long experiment, UCCS and computer giant Cisco shared a new way of delivering education before a world-wide audience last week.
During the fall semester, instructors from the College of Engineering and Applied Science and the Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Science taught to students at Otero Junior College and Lamar Community College via Cisco Telepresence in addition to students on campus. In doing so, Bob Kressin and Sue Davis put UCCS in the record books. UCCS is the first university to use Telepresence to deliver for-credit college courses. (More)

Donor's Gift Shows Devotion to UCCS Women's Athletics
 UCCS supporter Glenn Williams aims to level the playing field with several gifts he has made toward UCCS women's athletics these past five years—including an endowed scholarship for women athletes.
And now, with a gift of a 12-foot-high sculpture that will grace the Four Diamonds Complex on North Nevada Avenue, Williams's legacy will be evident not only to his scholarship recipients, but to thousands who use these athletic fields each year. (More)
New Exhibits to Open at GOCA
 Two new exhibitions will soon open at the Gallery of Contemporary Art on campus, GOCA 1420, as well as the gallery's downtown location, GOCA121 at 121 S. Tejon.
"Rupture�? will open at GOCA1420 with a 5 p.m. public reception Jan. 27. Regular gallery hours are 12-6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. "Rupture�? features new installation work incorporating sound and performance from Kyle Bravo, Jenny LeBlanc and Claire Rau. (More)

 Lewis named New Inventor of the Year. Rory A. Lewis, assistant professor, College of Engineering and Applied Science, was named New Inventor of the Year, Colorado Springs, Jan. 18 by the University of Colorado Technology Transfer Office. (More)
Gould to publish poetry works. Janice Gould, assistant professor, Women's and Ethnic Studies, will soon publish "Doubters and Dreamers,�? a collection of poetry. Feb. 24 is the scheduled release date, according to the book's publisher, the University of Arizona Press.
von Dassanowsky named Taft lecturer. Robert von Dassanowsky, professor, Languages and Cultures and Visual and Performing Arts, was recently named a 2011 Taft Lecturer, as part of the University of Cincinnati's distinguished lecture series program. (More)
Crouch joins Memorial Health Foundation board. William Crouch, director of extended studies, Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences, recently joined the Memorial Health System Foundation Board. He is a retired cardiothoracic surgeon and also serves on the board for AspenPointe board and the Peak Vista fundraising board.
