“Unless someone like you
cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to
get better, it’s not.”
– The Lorax

Jaime Garcia is Executive Director of Development for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. In her role she establishes a structure for effective fundraising which includes assisting the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences and the College of Engineering and Applied Science in achieving their fundraising priorities. She also oversees the Karen Possehl Women’s Endowment, the Flying Solo single parent scholarship, and works with numerous boards and fundraising volunteers. Jaime has been with UCCS for 18 years and is a ‘storyteller’ for UCCS as she loves to share the past, present, and future of UCCS. On campus she has worked as a student assistant in the Chancellor’s Office, coach of the UCCS dance team, as director of the Spirit Teams, as a tutor in the Writing Center, as a recruiter in Student Recruitment before she joined the CU Foundation. She was with the CU Foundation for 9 years and now through development transitions is back at home with UCCS.

Jaime currently serves on the board of directors for 88.7 KCME-FM and is past president of the Colorado Springs Regionally Accredited Colleges and Universities (ACCEL). She and her husband, Leo, have two children, Jeremy and Nathaniel. UCCS is a family affair for the Garcias, as Leo studied at UCCS and both of their boys attend the UCCS Family Development Center. Jaime received her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
