A logo is the graphic representation of a brand. It should be distinctly different from other logos in a specific market and portray what a business or organization is all about.
A logo is NOT photography, stock clipart, or words and pictures strewn together. Also, a logo is not a brand; it is a representation of a brand. That’s why it’s incredibly important to use a logo correctly. When a logo is manipulated, distorted or used poorly it hurts the integrity and credibility of a brand.
There is only one official UCCS logo, the logo you see above. It is comprised of logomark (the mountains with "UCCS") and a wordmark ("University of Colorado at Colorado Springs") used as a whole. For more specifics about the official UCCS logo and for downloadable versions please read the Logo Guidelines.
While there is only one official UCCS logo, we do recognize colleges, departments, institutes and centers need to have their own identities. But these identities must fit under the umbrella of UCCS, as they would not exist without UCCS.
Currently we are working to ensure each department, college, institute, auxiliary and center has a logo that promotes their individual needs while fitting under the guidelines for the university. Check back often for updates and development. And if you have questions about your department’s logo, please contact Jeff Foster, x3847.
