The next meeting of the ITC is Friday (6 April) at 9 am in EPC 304C.

**ACTION ITEMS:**
1) Send Jere the names of people willing to participate in our focus groups.
2) Read the IT Goals document (http://www.uccs.edu/~jhaefner/itcouncil/information/itgoals.htm)
Then send your comments, suggestions to Jere prior to the next meeting. Jere will update the webpage so revisit often.
3) ** The first public IT Focus Group is scheduled for Wednesday, 14 March at 10 am in Dwire 355. I have already sent emails to those people who have indicated to me that they are available. BUT if you know of others, let me know and I will see if there is room.

MINUTES from ITC meeting on 9 March 2001

1) Goals and Objectives - This is truly the beginning of a strategic planning document. It includes the IT mission, goals, objectives and strategies so far. WARNING: This is a DRAFT - it is incomplete and any numbers are subject to vast fluctuations. See the IT Goals document on the web at:

Please read this document and make comments. We particularly need to adjust the objectives and add many more strategies. I have formatted the document both in a list form and in a table form (much like the now-entrenched TLE goals).

PLEASE SEND YOUR COMMENTS DIRECTLY TO JERE (haefner@math.uccs.edu).

2) Core and extended services - Jere handed out revised core and extended service documents. The most notable change is the "policy" regarding IT support for open and specialized labs. The policy is currently framed as a concept map. See it on the web at:
http://www.uccs.edu/~jhaefner/itcouncil/information/itlabflowchart.htm

3) Focus groups - The first campus IT focus group is scheduled for Wednesday, 14 March at 10 am in Dwire 355. There is still room for a few more volunteers - send the names and email addresses to Jere.

We decided to drop the other campus priorities question from the focus group.

4) Issue and variables - Jere distributed a new list of issues (the 15 from the survey and focus group). Each issue has a series of variables: cost, # people affected, implementation time. Please comment to Jere if there should be other variables attached to these issues. See the list at:
http://www.uccs.edu/~jhaefner/itcouncil/information/15issues9mar01.html

5) Funding options - Student Technology Fee - Jere distributed two possible referendums that he and Mike Dugan are working to get onto the April Student ballot. See the wordings at
http://www.uccs.edu/~jhaefner/itcouncil/information/studenttechnologyfeereferendum.htm

Note that the next ITC meeting is scheduled for Friday, 6 April at 9 am in EPC 304C.
