Minutes from Special ITC meeting 27 February 02

Colleagues,

The ITC met today with the Chancellor and the Vice Chancellors to discuss the organizational changes to IT on our campus. The Chancellor expressed her thanks for the work that the subcommittee and the ITC did in the fall and announced the formation of three new groups that will help guide the strategic and operational direction for information technology on our campus. This document describes the general make up and responsibility of the IT Leadership Team, the IT Advisory Council and the IT Operating Committee. The current IT Council will be transitioned into the IT Advisory Council and it is my hope that all of the current committee members will continue to serve on the ITAC. The IT Leadership Team will meet next week to discuss the bylaws and makeup of the ITAC so that more complete representation (particularly, in the areas of Administration and Finance and Student Success as well as system committees) is insured. The IT Leadership Team will also consider relations between our activity and the Student Technology Fee.

Finally, the ITAC will have its first meeting at the usual 2nd Friday of the month. The next meeting is scheduled for Friday, March 8 at 9 am in EPC 304C. As we previously discussed, we will begin our analysis of the streamlining concept. The criteria document that I distributed last week will be a primary topic of conversation.
