UCCS Faculty Assembly Committee on Women

This month we have adopted a Mission Statement for our committee, as
follows:

Mission Statement: UCCS Faculty Assembly Committee on Women. The UCCS
Faculty Assembly Committee on Women exists to represent the interests and
concerns of women faculty at our campus.  Our overall goals include
promoting community and support for women faculty; securing resources for
professional development for women faculty; supporting visiting scholars on
gender issues; and working to promote inclusion of gender issues in
curriculum and the life of the university, including the recruitment and
retention of women faculty.

Additionally, we are in the process of electing an Interim Chair for the
Spring semester to replace Susan Taylor, who will be on sabbatical Spring
04. Valerie Brodar of VAPA is the current nominee for Interim Chair.
